Where the Possibilities are Endless

South Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Main Project

July 13, 2018

The South Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Main consists of approximately 10,000 lineal feet of 24” PVC sewer main. The intent of the interceptor is to increase capacity and allow future development of the I-80 Interchange as well as the Hwy. 14 (16th Street) corridor. This sewer main will bypass the city and take any flows from south of Aurora directly to the waste water treatment facility. The project also includes an extension of water main east on A Street for future development, paving of A Street consisting of 9″ concrete, 30′-0″ in width, curb and gutter, and storm sewer infrastructure.

Project Updates:

1/24/2022: Mid-Nebraska Land Developers have installed approximately 10,000 lineal feet of 24″ PVC sewer main to date. Starting today, A Street/12 Road will be closed from 16th Street east to approximately 525′ east of the 18th Street intersection for the construction of the 10″ sanitary sewer main, storm sewer and paving of A Street. The street closure is planned to remain in effect into spring of 2022.
