Parks and Recreation
Located on the North side of Aurora, which can be accessed from Hwy. 34 and Hwy. 14. Streeter Park has 2 ballfields, 12 horse shoe pits, 2 picnic shelters, a playground area , and a campground with 14 camp sites. The Aurora Aquatic Facility is located in Streeter Park, which was constructed in 2013-2014, opening in May of 2014. Some of the features at the pool are, speed slide, flume slide, high & low diving boards, a play feature, zero entry, and Lilly pads. The pool holds around 275,000 gallons of water. The tennis courts were constructed 2017-2018, being completed in spring of 2018. Community volunteers raised money from foundations, businesses, and citizens. The tennis courts offer tennis for youth and adults, as well as pickleball.
The Aurora Aquatic Facility opened in 2014. It is open during the summer months from approximately Memorial Day (end of May) up to the start of the school year in August. The pool is served by pool managers, concession stand managers, and a number of lifeguards and cross guards.
Located on the South side of Hwy. 34 between 7th and 8th Streets. Cole Park offers a Splash Pad which was constructed in 2010, along with playground equipment and restrooms. Cement walking trails and picnic shelters were added in 2011.
Located in the Southern section of Aurora on the West side of Hwy. 14 (16th Street). Refshauge Park provides a ballfield, disc golf, skate park, playgrounds, picnic shelter, and restrooms.
Located West of 12th Street, between A & C streets. There is a ballfield and 3 Optimist soccer fields in Edgerton Park. Mitchell Field is located in Edgerton Park and is home for the Legion Juniors and Seniors baseball teams. It is also home for the 7th & 8th grade Pony team, as well as the City town team the Mudcats.
Lincoln Creek Park
Located Northwest of Aurora, west of north 1st Street in Lincoln Creek Subdivision. Lincoln Creek Park serves as a pocket park for the residents of Lincoln Creek Subdivision and surrounding neighborhoods.
Optimist ballfields and soccer fields
Located East of 12th Street between A & C Streets. 2 ballfields and 2 soccer fields.
Eckerson Field- 1 ballfield
Aurora Dog Park
Located on the East part of Aurora, next to the Humane society. A dog park committee was formed which raised money from foundations, businesses, and citizens, and the Dog Park was built in 2016. 2 fenced in areas, a large pen for active dogs and a small pen for less active.
