City of Aurora Public Works Division completed a 110’-0” x 60’-0” x 6” thick concrete pour of a parking lot south of the cemetery shop and office. This area not only serves as parking but also as the home of the newly installed kiosk and kiosk shelter. The kiosk is an electronic directory for the cemetery, allows you to search by name to find the location of a burial site. The kiosk is protected from the elements by a 20’-0” x 20’-0” partial enclosed structure built by City of Aurora Public Works Division Staff. The cemetery shop and office received new siding, soffit, fascia, and gutters as well as decorative stone. Public Works staff installed decorative fencing along the main entrance to the cemetery as well as north and south of the parking area near the kiosk, this area was also lined with white rock.
UPDATE: In the near future public works staff will be extending the culvert running under the main entrance to the south, hauling in dirt, and grading the south slope to allow for proper maintenance.
